use stickers, stamps or clearly circle worksheet questions to signify start and stop spots

Break larger tasks into steps:

provide one piece of an assignment to complete before giving the next

provide 5 minutes of instruction and then an opportunity for student to check for understanding or share thoughts with a partner for 1 minute
